Hyundai Department Store Jungdong announced on May 1 that it will host THE DREAM FESTA, the department store’s biggest family-themed event of the year, throughout May. Running through the 31st, the festival offers families visiting the store hands-on experiences, unique attractions and hefty discounts.
First, through May 10, the 9th-floor cultural hall will host a Fireflies & Butterflies special exhibition in collaboration with biology creator Daheuk, who has 1 million YouTube subscribers. Visitors can see fireflies, butterflies, reptiles and insects in one place and join hands-on workshops like bag- and necklace-making.
During the same period, the U-PLEX first-floor plaza will run an Overwatch pop-up store. The pop-up debuts season-limited merch and features items such as Pop Mart blind-box figures. There will also be a game demo area, photo zones and other events.
Through the 5th, the 10th-floor Sky Garden will host Booknic with the Hyundai Children’s Book Museum MOKA PLUS. The outdoor library stocks about 300 picture books, and the picnic zone—complete with tents and mats—creates a cozy, Instagram-ready spot. Art-play activities like memory games, art puzzles and coloring are available, and dance performances and busking are scheduled for May 2, 9 and 10.
The festival includes several sales promotions. Around 30 popular brands across men’s, outdoor, kids and golf categories will offer up to 30% off. Nike and adidas will discount select popular items up to 30%, and fashion names like Uniqlo will run additional promotions. In the 5th-floor main event hall, a Golf & Kids Special Sale runs through May 3 with brand items up to 70% off. From May 4 through 7, there’s a 70% off clearance on women’s brand overstock items.
