Experience the Fusion: Holy Number Seven and Kotaro Taniyama’s WEAVE Project in Seoul
Daniel Kim Views
Blurring the lines between brands and cultures has become the vibe in fashion lately. Leading that energy, sustainable streetwear label Holy Number Seven is teaming up with Japanese designer Kotaro Taniyama for WEAVE, a three-day pop-up at W Mission in Seongsu-dong running April 24–26. The partnership brings Korean and Japanese design sensibilities together to celebrate contemporary fashion’s focus on connection and coexistence.
WEAVE—literally and figuratively—imagines different threads coming together to form a single weave. It’s not just a capsule drop; it’s about structural harmony, where varied perspectives intersect to create fresh silhouettes and new narratives. The pop-up is designed to be immersive, so visitors can see, touch, and experience the collection up close. The space is open daily from noon to 8 p.m., and admission is free.
Alongside the collaboration exhibit, several brands will set up their own pop-ups. Premium streetwear label MILACODE (MLCD) and Shop HanHyunjae, the cosmetics brand launched by makeup artist Han Hyunjae, will present fashion-and-beauty lifestyle content that complements the collection. The W Mission building—near Seoul Forest—is a well-known creative hub that houses the headquarters and showrooms of leading K-textile brands. Staging the collaboration in this multi-use cultural space amplifies the project’s symbolic resonance.
Seongsu-dong has risen as a hotspot for K-culture and fashion, attracting pop-ups and cultural events from both local and international names. In that context, the Holy Number Seven–Kotaro Taniyama collaboration reflects a broader move toward global partnerships in Korea’s fashion scene. Pairing fashion and beauty brands here meets shoppers where they are—seeking integrated lifestyle experiences.
Holy Number Seven describes WEAVE as more than a collaboration: it’s a creative flow that links different cultures and aesthetics into a single narrative. On April 24, the opening will feature VIPs and celebrities and include a fashion show unveiling the collaboration.
