Completed first ZDHC InCheck third-party verification
Actively supporting sustainability in the textile and fashion industry

FITI Testing & Research Institute announced on the 24th that it successfully completed the first ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) InCheck Verification for Serim Textile.
ZDHC InCheck Verification is a third-party audit that’s part of the Roadmap to Zero program, which is transforming how the industry manages chemicals.
The verification checks whether the chemical inventories used by manufacturers of textile raw materials and components—such as fabrics, leather, and footwear—comply with the ZDHC MRSL (Manufacturing Restricted Substances List). In short, it proves that harmful chemicals weren’t used during production and supply.
Right now, the textile and fashion sector is racing to meet global environmental regulations and pivot toward greener, more sustainable practices. Serim Textile, a knit-dye specialist, has earned a range of international certifications and verifications—including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Higg FEM, SLCP, and ZDHC Wastewater—demonstrating its commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
Through this verification, FITI confirmed that Serim Textile’s chemical management system meets international standards. Scoring above 90 on the ZDHC InCheck Verification, Serim has shown it can compete as a company that genuinely practices sustainable, ESG-driven management.
FITI plans to expand these services following its first InCheck verification. In early March, the institute will carry out additional verifications for NIKE suppliers, actively helping domestic textile and fashion companies meet eco-friendly standards.
Yoon Ju-kyung, president of FITI, said ZDHC InCheck Verification is one of the key audits that helps manufacturers and suppliers meet global fashion brands’ environmental requirements. She added that FITI will continue to provide strong support so Korea’s textile and fashion companies can comply with international environmental regulations and strengthen their ESG practices.
Meanwhile, FITI has already been designated by ZDHC as Korea’s first MRSL Level 1 accredited body and has since been named an accredited InCheck verification body and a Supplier to Zero Level 2 Reviewer.
