Actor Ahn Bo-hyun commanded attention at the Cannes International Series Festival, captivating audiences from the photocall to the pink carpet.
On April 24 (local time), Ahn attended an official event at the ninth Cannes International Series Festival in Cannes, in southern France, where international press and fans turned out in force.
Canneseries, organized alongside the Cannes Film Festival, showcases standout dramas and series that combine popular appeal with artistic quality. Ahn was invited to the noncompetitive \”Rendez-Vous\” section as the lead of JTBC’s new drama Shin-ui Guseul.
He opened the festival schedule at the photocall, posing with composed poise against Cannes’s blue shoreline and drawing a barrage of camera shutters. At the Palais des Festivals, Ahn participated in an official screening, a stage greeting and a Q&A, discussing the project and engaging directly with an international audience. The long ovation that filled the theater after the screening suggested his performance resonated beyond language barriers.
On the festival’s highlight—the pink carpet—Ahn’s presence stood out even more. Wearing a black tuxedo that blended understated sexiness with classic tailoring, he met reporters with a relaxed smile, warm looks and polite waves, projecting a gentlemanly charm. Fans lining the streets chanted his name and greeted him in Korean, a scene that reportedly left him visibly pleased.
After this year’s Spring Fever, Ahn has signaled a busy, genre-spanning slate that includes Chaebol X Detective 2 and Shin-ui Guseul. He plans to concentrate on filming SBS’s new Friday–Saturday drama Chaebol X Detective 2, while JTBC’s Shin-ui Guseul, which promises another side of his work, is slated for the second half of 2026.
