[Sports Today reporter Song Oh-jung] Actress Lee El-lya revealed she received idol casting offers before her official debut.
She appeared on the April 4 episode of MBC’s Omniscient Interfering View.
Lee, who recently gained attention for competing on a trot audition program, said she decided to take part because she’d studied classical vocal music and joined the KBS choir from third grade. She continued with music through high school but developed vocal nodules and had to stop singing. Later in life she decided to give it another try. She added that her mother is an avid fan of the Miss Trot series and, since her mother enjoys songs from her generation, Lee thought, \”Why not try Miss Trot?\”

When asked whether she must have received a lot of casting offers as a child, Lee laughed and said she was scouted on the street frequently in high school. She even received a business card from SM Entertainment and recalled meeting directly with Bang Si-hyuk when he headed Big Hit Entertainment, which surprised the room.
She said she ultimately followed her parents’ wish that she go to college.
