[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] Takuya embarks on an emotional quest to find the biological father he lost contact with 25 years ago.
On March 28, KBS2’s variety show \”Men Doing Housework Season 2\” — commonly referred to as Salim-nam — will air an episode that follows Takuya as he travels to Japan in search of his father.
After learning about his biological father from his mother for the first time last month, Takuya urged producers, \”I have to meet him at least once. I just want to know whether he’s alive,\” and asked for urgent help. The only clues he had were a single photograph, a name, a hometown and an approximate age. With that limited information, he set off for Hokkaido, the town listed as his father’s hometown.
He visited the local municipal office and began combing through records. Tense and focused, he uncovered an unexpected lead in the paperwork. Fearing he might lose his chance forever, he hurriedly boarded a flight to the area he believed his father was living.
Driven by a single-minded determination, he endured a grueling journey of trains and planes. As he drew closer to his destination, he admitted, \”What if he doesn’t recognize me?\”
Late that night, Takuya arrived at the address he believed to be his father’s and stood frozen, hesitating for a long time. Taken aback by the surroundings, he confessed, \”Maybe meeting him now isn’t the right choice; perhaps it’s better not to,\” revealing his inner turmoil.
Can Takuya bridge a 25-year gap and miraculously reunite with his father? The tense, breath-holding journey airs on Salim-nam on March 28 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
