British-born TV personality Eva Popiel has officially become a South Korean citizen, marking a significant milestone in her career and personal life.
On March 3, Popiel took to her social media platforms to share the exciting news. “Finally, thank you!!” she exclaimed, accompanied by a series of photos documenting the momentous occasion.
The images capture Popiel at the Yangju Immigration and Foreigners Office in Gyeonggi Province, where she attended the citizenship certificate presentation ceremony. In one striking photo, she proudly displays her newly acquired South Korean citizenship certificate while posing next to a sign emblazoned with the Taegeukgi, South Korea’s national flag.
Popiel, born to a British father and Japanese mother, first arrived in South Korea in 2005 as an international student. Her journey in Korean entertainment began the following year when she made her debut on the popular show “Super Junior’s Full House.”
The TV personality’s career took off after her appearance on KBS2’s “Global Talk Show,” which catapulted her to fame among Korean audiences. In 2010, Popiel’s connection to South Korea deepened when she married a Korean national and obtained permanent residency. Today, she is a mother to two sons, born three years apart.
Popiel has continued to make waves in the Korean entertainment industry, most recently appearing on SBS’s hit show “Kick a Goal,” further cementing her place in the hearts of Korean viewers.
