Former 2NE1 member Sandara Park has issued a brief statement in response to accusations made by her former bandmate Park Bom, expressing concern for her well-being rather than engaging in a public dispute.

On March 4th, Park took to her social media story, writing, “I have never used drugs. I hope she’s doing well.”

This statement comes in the wake of explosive allegations made by Park Bom. The day prior, Bom had claimed that Sandara Park was caught with drugs and used Bom as a scapegoat to deflect attention, reigniting controversy surrounding past drug-related incidents within the group.

Instead of retaliating, Sandara Park chose to address the accusation succinctly, denying any drug use while expressing concern for her former bandmate’s health.

The controversy harks back to 2010 when Park Bom was found to have shipped Adderall, an amphetamine-containing medication, to Korea. At the time, she provided medical records and prescriptions to support her claim that it was for legitimate treatment purposes. Prosecutors ultimately decided not to press charges.

Park Bom has been on hiatus from the entertainment industry. While she participated in 2NE1’s much-anticipated reunion in 2024, she stepped back from public activities in August of last year. Her agency stated that she was focusing on treatment and recovery due to emotional instability.

Since her hiatus, Park Bom has stirred up controversy on social media. She sparked rumors of a relationship with actor Lee Min-ho and made startling allegations against her former agency, YG Entertainment, claiming they owed her an astronomical sum of 64,772 trillion KRW (48.579 trillion USD) in unpaid settlements.

Despite the unfolding drama, Sandara Park maintained her professional commitments. She attended a scheduled photocall in Seoul’s trendy Sinsa-dong neighborhood, greeting reporters with her signature bright smile and completing her engagements as planned.
