Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it struck key U.S. military installations in Bahrain and Kuwait. According to AFP and other outlets, the IRGC told state media that on June 2 (local time) it attacked the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain and a U.S. Air Force base in Kuwait using missiles and drones.U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) immediately rejected the claims on social media, calling them false and saying all Iranian attacks on U.S. forces had failed. CENTCOM added that U.S. forces remain alert and are prepared to defend against what it described as unjust Iranian aggression. The U.S. said it, together with Bahraini forces, intercepted three missiles Iran launched that day. Missiles fired toward Kuwait either fell short, crashed, or broke up in flight, the U.S. said.In response to the attacks, U.S. forces struck targets on Qeshm Island in Iran. CENTCOM said the strikes were aimed at an Iranian ground control facility on the island and that there were no U.S. casualties.#Iran #IRGC #UnitedStates #Missiles Yonhap News TV inquiries and tips: KakaoTalk/Line jebo23, Lee Ji-yoon (easyun@yna.co.kr)
