The Broadcasting, Media and Communications Commission announced on May 7 that it launched the third \”2030 Advisory Panel\” to gather input from younger generations on broadcasting, media and communications policy. The panel brings together 24 young adults, ages 19 to 39, drawn from a range of occupations — college students, office workers, teachers, researchers and freelance instructors. Over the coming months, members will assess and advise on key policy areas, including consumer protections for broadcast and advertising users, fair competition and access in media and digital markets, and initiatives to promote the broadcasting and content industries as the sector marks its 100th anniversary. Standing Commissioner Ko Min‑su said the commission aims to shape broadcasting, media and communications policies that reflect young people’s perspectives and resonate with the public. \”We expect the panel to actively convey a wide range of on-the-ground opinions,\” he added.
