X (Formerly Twitter) Launches Custom Timeline: 5 Must-Know Benefits for Premium Subscribers

[Digital Today AI Reporter] X (formerly Twitter) has introduced a new ‘Customized Timeline’ feature that lets users pin topic-specific feeds to their Home tab.
On the 22nd (local time), blockchain outlet BeInCrypto reported that the feature supports more than 75 topics. It debuted first on iOS for premium subscribers.
The Customized Timeline creates an algorithm-driven feed centered on a single subject—art, finance, sports, and so on. Instead of relying only on the ‘Recommended’ tab, users can pin a topic feed directly to the Home tab.
The feature relies on Grok to interpret posts on X and then combines that output with the platform’s personalization system. Nikita Bier, X’s head of product, said the tool was developed over several months and works best on topics users already engage with regularly.
X also added an option to temporarily hide specific topics from the ‘Recommended’ tab. The company is rolling that capability out in stages to premium subscribers on iOS and the web.
This rollout aligns with X’s broader expansion of its ‘Smart Cashtags’ feature. Smart Cashtags surface real-time price data for stocks and cryptocurrency tokens inside posts; X first launched them on iOS in the U.S. and Canada before extending them globally.
