According to the Korea Integrated Ticketing System on the 11th, the film reached a cumulative audience of 16,283,970 on its 67th day in release.

That total surpassed the final attendance for 2019’s blockbuster ‘Extreme Job’ (16.26 million), pushing ‘A Man Who Lives with the King’ to the No. 2 spot on the all-time list.

Set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo, the film follows a village head who volunteers for exile to revive his town and a young dethroned king sent into exile. Blending comedy with heartfelt drama, it has won over audiences across generations.

The movie’s poignant telling of King Danjong’s story and the cast’s committed performances have left a lasting impression. Now in its 10th week, it continues to draw repeat viewings, and as it breaks box-office records day after day, industry watchers are tracking what milestones it will reach next.

Having surpassed 16.28 million viewers to claim the No. 2 spot on the all-time box office chart, ‘A Man Who Lives with the King’ remains in theaters nationwide.
