[Sports Today Reporter Jeong Ye-won] The film The Man Who Lives with the King has now surpassed 15 million admissions.
According to the Korea Film Council’s integrated box office system, the film crossed the 15 million cumulative admissions mark on the afternoon of the 25th.
Distributor Showbox took to its official social channels to celebrate, saying, “Released at the start of spring, The Man Who Lives with the King is now preparing to welcome the cherry blossoms. We sincerely thank the 15 million moviegoers who have joined us on this remarkable box-office journey.”
Released Feb. 4, The Man Who Lives with the King is set in 1457 at Cheongryeongpo. The story follows a village chief who volunteers for exile to help revive his hometown and a young deposed king who has also been banished. Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, Jeon Mi-do and Kim Min deliver standout performances, and the film currently ranks as the third-highest-grossing Korean film of all time.
