[Sports Today reporter Song Oh-jung] Hwang Dong-hyuk, the filmmaker behind the global phenomenon Squid Game, has outlined plans for his next project.
On March 18 (local time), The Hollywood Reporter quoted Hwang saying he expects to finish the screenplay for the film KO Club (Killing Old People Club) within a couple of months and that casting has already begun.
KO Club is inspired by the late Italian writer Umberto Eco’s 2011 essay How to Pretend to Understand a Mad World. The story is set in a future society where generational conflict has reached a boiling point.
Hwang said he plans to move into pre-production this fall and begin filming next spring.
