[MyDaily = Reporter Kim Ha-young] As Netflix’s series Monthly Boyfriend continues its global run, attention is growing for its filming location—the Jeju Dream Tower mixed-use resort complex—which helped boost the show’s immersive appeal.

On the 18th, Netflix’s Tudum TOP 10 listings placed Monthly Boyfriend at No. 1 in the global Top 10 non-English shows, underscoring its strength. The series appeared on Top 10 lists in 47 countries and has led in viewing hours for two consecutive weeks.

The show is also dominating domestic buzz. Good Data Corporation’s FunDex ranked it No. 1 in TV-OTT integrated drama buzz for a second straight week. In individual performer buzz, Jisoo came in first and Seo In-guk second, drawing intense public interest.

One setting that has captured viewers’ attention is the Jeju Dream Tower.

The series stages the characters’ first meeting in this virtual-reality space, using it as a narrative kickoff and a key mood-setting scene. The outdoor infinity pool at sunset, in particular, amplifies the romance and caught the eyes of global viewers.

Located in Nohyeong-dong in central Jeju, Dream Tower is Jeju’s tallest mixed-use resort complex at 38 stories, and all 1,600 rooms are configured as suites. Industry observers say it’s an ideal backdrop for the chaebol-boyfriend fantasy portrayed in the drama.

Interest in Dream Tower spiked in the second half of last year when filming news broke, and the numbers reflected that attention. Lotte Tour Development’s 2025 business report shows Dream Tower posted operating profit of 143.3 billion KRW (about 107.5 million USD), a 267% increase from 39.0 billion KRW (about 29.3 million USD) the previous year. With Monthly Boyfriend’s record-breaking run following its March launch, Dream Tower is expected to surpass last year’s steep growth.

Monthly Boyfriend is streaming on Netflix. The romantic comedy follows webtoon producer Mirae (Jisoo), who, tired of real life, subscribes to a virtual dating simulation to experience and test out romance.
