Actress Jeon Jong-seo’s content production company, ‘Summer,’ has recently completed its registration as a public cultural arts planning business, prompting her agency to clarify that their intention was not to establish a talent management company.
On the 10th, Jeon Jong-seo’s agency, Andmark, told Hankyung.com, “Summer was not established as a management agency, but rather as a company focused on content planning, development, and production.” They further explained, “During the company’s incorporation process, we broadly listed various business activities, which inadvertently included management-related categories. However, as we had no actual plans to operate in that sector, we didn’t realize the need for separate registration.”
Industry insiders report that Jeon Jong-seo founded ‘Summer’ in June 2022 and finalized its registration as a public cultural arts planning business on February 4th of this year. The company’s stated objectives reportedly encompass film and drama content production and development, as well as talent management aspects. Jeon Jong-seo serves as the CEO, while her partner, director Lee Chung-hyun, is listed as an executive director. Current public cultural arts industry laws mandate that operating a talent management business requires registration with either the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism or local government authorities.
Addressing the delayed registration, Andmark stated, “In light of recent inquiries, we’ve re-examined the situation and have taken the necessary steps to rectify any procedural oversights.”
Jeon Jong-seo burst onto the scene with her debut in director Lee Chang-dong’s critically acclaimed film ‘Burning’ (2018). She has since starred in various projects, including ‘Call,’ ‘Romance Without Love,’ and the Hollywood production ‘Ballerina.’
