The February 10 episode of tvN’s ‘Spring Fever’ portrayed Choi Se-jin (played by Lee Jae-in) parting ways with Sun Han-gyeol (played by Jo Jun-young).
Sun Han-gyeol addressed Choi Se-jin, saying, “I apologize if I offended you, but as you pointed out, I’m not someone who needs to be number one. I don’t need good grades, I’m not planning on college, and I don’t have parents pushing me to excel.”
Choi Se-jin retorted, “You must have found it amusing, watching me boast about winning through my own efforts, not realizing that studying is a test of endurance and that hard work is eventually recognized.” Sun Han-gyeol responded, “I simply wanted to give you the gift of being number one. That’s all there was to it.”
Choi Se-jin then questioned Sun Han-gyeol, “Do you genuinely believe that’s a gift?” Sun Han-gyeol countered, “Isn’t a gift supposed to be what someone desires most?” Choi Se-jin declared, “Don’t contact me for a while. I’m putting our relationship and dates on hold to focus entirely on my studies.”
Sun Han-gyeol pleaded, “Se-jin, we’ve only just started dating,” but Choi Se-jin stood firm, stating, “Achieving first place on my own is the gift I truly want,” before walking away.
