Popular cooking YouTuber SooBingsoo, who has 1.28 million subscribers, has left South Korea and set up a new home in Vietnam.
On the 20th, SooBingsoo announced his move to Vietnam in a video on his YouTube channel ‘수빙수tv sooBingsoo’ titled “Why a YouTuber with 1.28 million subscribers settled in Southeast Asia.”

Appearing in Da Nang, SooBingsoo told viewers they probably gasped when they saw the video title and announced he’s officially started living overseas. He said living abroad has been his dream since childhood and that plunging himself into an unfamiliar—but bigger—world is the only way he can grow.
He made it clear this isn’t just a stint abroad. “To settle down means my life has to be comfortable there, and I need to be able to work and earn a living,” he said. “I’ve been very interested in running a business overseas, and I’ve spent a lot of time preparing for it.”
Right now, he’s doing market research to get his business off the ground. He even joked that Da Nang might as well be called “Gyeonggi-do, Da Nang City,” adding that the city’s familiar infrastructure makes day-to-day life easy for Koreans.
Health concerns also played a role in his decision to relocate. SooBingsoo admitted he hadn’t been feeling well recently—his body runs cold, he experiences pain and inflammation when the temperature drops, and his weight climbed to 65 kg (about 143 lb). While traveling, he said Malta and Vietnam were the only places where he didn’t gain weight, suggesting the local climate helps him manage his health.
Born in 1992, SooBingsoo launched his channel in 2019 and carved out a distinctive niche with bold videos—personally dismantling giant fish weighing over 100 kg (more than 220 lb)—which helped him rack up a total of 660 million views.
