On the 14th, at the Incheon Port International Passenger Terminal.
Up on the fifth floor, ornate chandeliers and bride-and-groom signs gave the space a vibe that couldn’t be further from a typical passenger terminal. Marebella Wedding Songdo, located inside the international passenger terminal, will begin full operations with its first wedding on the 16th.
This is the first time a wedding hall has opened inside a domestic port or airport passenger terminal. Ahead of the official opening, we popped in to check out this one-of-a-kind venue.
We walked down a corridor alive with last-minute touches and stepped into the ceremony hall. Framed by floral arrangements, a long aisle led the way for the bride and groom, while round tables were arranged around the room. It looked as though a wedding could start any minute.
The banquet hall was a real showstopper. From its terrace, the view opened onto Incheon Bay dotted with ships — a vivid reminder that this is a wedding hall set inside a passenger terminal.
The departure hall, a floor below the wedding corridor, was bustling that afternoon with passengers catching the ferry to Yantai, China.
Together, the wedding hall and the international passenger terminal created a strikingly unique scene.

Until recently, these fifth-floor spaces sat empty, without any facilities.
The Incheon Port Authority (IPA) opened the international passenger terminal in Songdo in 2020, but the facility struggled during the COVID-19 pandemic. The fifth-floor event area, originally planned for MICE facilities, also remained vacant for a long time.
To make better use of the space, IPA ran a call for operators last year. After contracting with a private company and completing renovations, the wedding hall took shape.
Escalators connect the floors, so wedding guests can easily reach terminal amenities such as the on-site café and the local tourist information center. The venue also boasts nearly 900 parking spaces.
The venue aims to host about 480 ceremonies a year. The operator expects more than 10,000 visitors a month if it runs full-day weddings on weekends.
A company representative said couples have responded positively. They pointed out that, compared with city wedding halls, the terminal location offers generous parking and easy highway access. Being inside a passenger terminal also gives the venue a rare, distinctive appeal.
IPA expects the wedding hall to raise awareness of the international passenger terminal and inject new life into the space.
An IPA official said, \”By attracting foot traffic, the wedding hall will naturally promote the international passenger terminal and the Korea-China ferry routes, and we expect it to boost passenger numbers. Beyond creating new jobs, it creates a space where local residents and port workers can thrive together, which makes this development meaningful.\”
