\”Find the Weekend Santa\” returns for its third year as a health-travel campaign from the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, designed to ignite interest in K-hiking tourism.
On June 20, Santas will hit the trails at Soisan in Cheorwon. Through the event, the foundation aims to promote the Gangwon 20 Famous Mountains certification challenge and invite the public to participate.
The campaign highlights lesser-known peaks and tourism assets across Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, with the goal of boosting mountain tourism throughout the region. The foundation will run a range of on-site events and commemorative programs.
In the Find the Santa program, participants will search for Santa sculptures placed along the trails, snap photos, and then collect various gifts at an event booth. The interactive activities are built for families and Millennials and Gen Z to enjoy together, adding a playful, hands-on element to the experience.
The Soisan lookout offers sweeping views of the Cheorwon Plain and has become a popular stop for tourists and hikers. Named one of the Gangwon 20 Famous Mountains for the first time in 2026, it’s now gaining attention as an exciting new hiking destination.
