[MyDaily = Reporter Bang Geum-suk] Lotte Tour Development is launching three charter cruises across May and June. The first — a Hokkaido itinerary — departed Sokcho Port today with roughly 2,500 passengers on board.
This five-night, six-day route stops in Otaru and Hakodate, Japan, before returning to Busan — a popular pick for summer travelers.
After the Hokkaido sailing, Lotte will run two more charters: a Busan-departing Korea-China-Japan cruise on the 17th of this month, and an Asia three-country cruise leaving Seosan on June 13. Together, the three voyages will carry about 7,500 passengers.
The May 17 Korea-China-Japan itinerary lasts five nights and six days and calls at Shanghai and Sasebo, Japan. The June voyage spans six nights and seven days, stopping in Okinawa and Taiwan before heading back to Busan.
The fully refurbished Costa Serena will be deployed for these sailings. To make the experience more appealing, Lotte is offering unlimited complimentary beer, soda, and bottled water — items that were previously paid extras — targeting travelers who want a more relaxed, stay-focused trip.
The company is also selling a single-voyage Korea-China-Japan “Asia three-country cruise” for September. Departing from Busan, the five-night, six-day trip calls at Shanghai and Fukuoka, Japan, and includes early-bird discounts and perks for returning customers.
Baek Hyun, CEO of Lotte Tour Development, said, “We’re pleased that all three charter sailings have gotten underway smoothly with roughly 7,500 passengers. With 14 years of cruise operation experience, we will spare no effort to deliver excellent service and strict safety so customers can relax and enjoy their journeys.”
