The Busan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation is rolling out Hu&Connect, a workation networking series designed to bring local residents and workation guests together.
The center said it will hold Hu&Connect at the Hu&Work Seo-gu Workation Center on May 7 at 3 p.m.
In partnership with the Seo-gu District Office, the center runs the Hu&Work Seo-gu Workation Center to promote workations—a stay-based way of working that blends job duties with downtime—and it continues to host related networking events.
Hu&Connect pairs expert talks with casual networking so workation participants and locals can connect. Since its 2025 debut, the program has run steadily; this May it will present its 11th and 12th sessions.
Reflecting Seo-gu’s status as a tourism-special district, the center is expanding its “Medication” program, which ties healthcare and wellness into the workation experience.
At the 11th session, Lee Yoo-young, head of the International Medical Cooperation Team at Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital, will present “How Are Overseas Patients Created?” She’ll walk through how metropolitan university hospitals operate international clinics and share hands-on insights from medical tourism.
On the 21st, the 12th session will feature Im Joo-eun, CEO of the Our Economy Research Institute, who will speak on “Financial Education to Strengthen Young People’s Financial Competence.” This session is connected to the Learncation program for college students and young adults.
Each session runs from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with spots limited to the first 25 registrants. Eligible participants include workation attendees, Busan residents, working professionals, and university students; advance sign-up is available via a Google Form.
A center representative said, “Hu&Connect is more than a lecture series—it’s a platform where local residents and outside talent connect naturally. We will keep expanding Busan’s stay-tourism model through programs that blend workations with locally tailored content.”
A workation blends work and vacation, letting people work while enjoying a change of scenery.
