[EPN Npinow reporter Goh Nari] Comedian Kim Jun-ho turned heads after sharing how he planned a cruise for his mother-in-law.
On the May 3 episode of SBS’s My Ugly Duckling, Kim Jun-ho joined Heo Kyung-hwan, Choi Jin-hyuk, and Yuk Joong-wan on a trip to an uninhabited island near Tongyeong in South Gyeongsang Province.
At the site, Kim gushed, \”I’m having a new, special life experience—like those Hollywood actors who own islands,\” showing how excited he was.
After slipping into rubber boots and elastic-waist rain pants provided by the island’s owner, he introduced the uninhabited Ddabak Island and its price to the group.
When they revealed the price—130,000,000 KRW (approximately $97,500)—the cast reacted in surprised disbelief.
Kim even spun the island’s spotty cell reception into a perk, quipping, \”If I buy this island, I’ll throw a mud festival,\” which drew laughs and attention.
The group relied on physical comedy to cross the mudflats, then climbed to the island’s summit and cheerfully set up the camping area and hammocks that had been prepared.
At one point, Kim asked, \”What’s the ultimate freedom?\” and said he felt truly content living in nature.
He also shared a sweet anecdote about gifting his mother-in-law a cruise, a moment that showed how much he values family.
The vibe shifted during a phone call with his wife, Kim Ji-min.
When he told her he planned to buy the island, she shot back, \”What are you talking about?\” His flustered reaction had everyone laughing.
He passed the moment to Choi Jin-hyuk, and the cast cheerfully wrapped up and left Ddabak Island.
Kim Jun-ho and Kim Ji-min went public with their relationship in 2022 and married last July. They recently revealed they’re undergoing IVF and have received an outpouring of support.
