[Sports Seoul | Reporter Yoon Dong-eon] Travel YouTuber ‘Nomadshun’ has kicked off a self-driven world tour.
On the 23rd, his YouTube channel released the Slovenia episode, the trip’s first stop. In January he shipped his vehicle by sea to Koper, Slovenia, expecting it to arrive in about a month. Due to international developments, transit was extended by roughly another month, pushing back his plans.
Even after the car reached Slovenia, things didn’t go smoothly. He thought he could pick it up within two days, but local administrative procedures dragged on, and it ended up taking nearly a week.
After the long wait, he went to pick up the car and admitted he felt “half excited, half worried,” adding, “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the car.” He also voiced concerns about the vehicle’s condition and whether it would start after being in transit so long.
Standing in front of the container, he pointed out that if two cars had been shipped together the cost would’ve been halved, but shipping it alone drove the price up—totaling 11,000,000 KRW (about $8,250 USD).
He faced yet another obstacle: the vehicle is almost the size of a mid-to-large truck, and the unloading area didn’t have enough space, so getting the car out was expected to be difficult.
The video focuses on the process of taking delivery of the vehicle in Europe; upcoming episodes will launch the main world travel series. hellboy321@sportsseoul.com
