Seongju County in North Gyeongsang Province is stepping up efforts to refresh the local tourism scene ahead of the 2026 Seongju Chamoe & Life Culture Festival.

On April 20, tourism staff from Seongju visited the popular Life and Culture Park to volunteer for cleanup and facility upkeep. Cultural tourism guides joined the effort.

The goal was simple: tidy up the Life and Culture Park—an emblem of the festival’s core theme of “life”—so visitors can fully soak up Seongju’s distinctive living heritage.

Seongju’s flagship celebration, the 2026 Seongju Chamoe & Life Culture Festival, runs May 14–17 at the Seongbak Forest area. Expect a lineup of colorful programs that highlight the world‑renowned sweetness of Seongju chamoe (Korean melon) and celebrate the deeper value of life culture.

Kim Mi‑sun, director of Seongju County’s tourism department, said, “As festival season—brimming with life—begins, we invite everyone to visit the freshly refreshed Life and Culture Park and feel Seongju’s warm vitality.”
