Busan’s Yeongdo District announced on the 10th that it will dramatically expand its distribution network and bring its local souvenirs into new retail locations to improve accessibility and boost brand awareness.
New retail placements will roll out in phases starting mid-April at Yeongdo landmarks such as the National Maritime Museum, Piaak, and Area Six.
The collection will feature roughly 10 bestselling items popular with visitors — think magnets, keychains, and name tags.
Until now, Yeongdo souvenirs have primarily been sold through government-run outlets like the Yeongdo Tourist Information Center and the Yeongdo Jonaegi Sweet Potato History Museum.
A Yeongdo District official said the district plans to focus on trend-driven souvenir design and broader distribution channels to make Yeongdo “a place visitors want to come back to.”
