The 43rd Seogwipo Canola Flower Festival is serving a stunning show of cherry blossoms and canola blooms that’s hard to resist.
On the morning of the 4th, the festival was in full swing around the Gasiri Pony Experience Park in Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo City. Hosted by Seogwipo City and organized by the Seogwipo Canola Flower Festival Committee, the event has become one of Jeju’s signature spring celebrations, drawing visitors eager for a taste of seasonal charm.
The star attraction was the sprawling Canola Flower Plaza — 80,000㎡ (about 861,112 sq ft / 19.8 acres), more than 11 times the size of a regulation soccer field (7,140㎡; about 76,845 sq ft / 1.77 acres). Guests wandered the paths between the blooms, snapping photos and sharing laughs as they soaked up the sunshine.
The stretch of Noksan-ro was equally eye-catching: cherry and canola blossoms lined roughly 10 km (about 6.2 miles), creating a colorful corridor that caught everyone’s attention. Known as a popular scenic drive, the route saw steady traffic as visitors cruised through.

“I came to Jeju just for this festival,” laughed visitor Lee Hyunjung (35). “I was worried about the strong wind, but seeing all these flowers ripple in the breeze makes me so happy.”
Local resident Kang Seongjin (60) smiled, saying, “In recent years the flowers bloomed late during the festival, which was disappointing. This year they’re in full bloom — it’s wonderful. My family probably took around 100 photos.”
The festival runs for two days, through the 5th.
New highlights include the Canola Run along a 5 km (about 3.1 miles) course and nighttime programs like “Wanna Play Cops and Robbers in the Canola Field?” and “Canola POP Club Night.” Family-friendly hands-on activities range from making bingtteok and oil rice cakes to riding a tin-can train, painting horse-shaped pottery, baking canola-flower cakes, and creating custom canola-scented fragrances.
A city official said, “We hope visitors escape their daily routines and fully enjoy Seogwipo’s special spring through this festival. We’ll do our best to ensure strict safety management and a pleasant viewing environment.”
