Nami Island spring flower festival 'Beot (Friend) Flower, Let's Play' — the perfect spring escape topped off with delicious dining

Earlier warm weather has sped up the spring bloom schedule, and Nami Island — one of the country’s favorite destinations — is now awash in vivid spring hues.
From the 11th to the 26th, the ‘Beot (Friend) Flower, Let’s Play’ festival invites visitors with a lineup of performances, hands-on activities, and exhibitions. It’s fast becoming a go-to spring day trip spot just outside Seoul.
Easily reached by car or public transit from the Seoul metro area, Nami Island draws many spring travelers. Direct shuttle buses run daily from major Seoul hubs like Hongdae, Myeong-dong, and Dongdaemun, making it convenient for both domestic and international guests.
Blossoms that began in late March — including cornelian cherry, magnolia, forsythia, and plum — give way in April to weeping cherry, king cherry, and double-flowered cherry trees. Mid-April is peak season, when cherry blossoms explode into full bloom and the entire island takes on a pink glow.
The ‘Beot (Friend) Flower, Let’s Play’ festival encourages families, couples, and friend groups to enjoy a cozy spring escape, with a variety of interactive experiences, live performances, and curated exhibitions.
Throughout the festival, spring-themed photo zones pop up across the island. The ‘Nami Photostar’ exhibition features work by photographers from the Korean Photographers Association who capture visitors’ most memorable travel moments.
Interactive offerings include Cherry Blossom Bingo, a cherry blossom message board, and wish-tag writing. Every weekend, the schedule fills with musical treats — from piano and vocal duets to fusion gugak (modern takes on traditional Korean music) and pop-opera performances.
Set among nature, Nami Island also boasts a range of dining spots. Expect everything from Nammun’s lotus-leaf rice set and Seomhyanggi’s spicy dakgalbi to Gomok’s pine-nut pasta and Ddanji Pub’s Neapolitan pizza.
Dongmun, an Asian restaurant with halal certification, makes Muslim travelers feel welcome. Seasonal spring offerings include the craft beer ‘Romantic Weizen,’ oak-smoked vongole, rose omija tea, and red velvet cake.
A Nami Island official said, “Warm weather this year has accelerated the spring blooms, so we tailored the festival, activities, and food offerings to match. We expect many visitors to come and soak up the season without having to travel far.”
Nami Island’s spring festival blends nature, culture, and food into a memorable experience. For details about the spring festival and related events, visit the official website or call the main number for more information.
