[Herald Economy — Ham Young-hoon] Seoul has picked 10 standout tourism packages that pair the capital with the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo, including convenient Seoul-to-Yeosu itineraries designed to boost city-region collaboration.
On the 29th, the Seoul Tourism Foundation said it focused this year on experience-driven products offered through online travel agencies (OTAs), reflecting how global travelers now prefer immersive, hands-on trips. The winning packages span a variety of themes—K-drama, e-sports, wellness, and after-dark experiences among them.
The 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo is an international event that highlights the value of islands and their marine, environmental, and cultural resources. It will run in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do from Sept. 5 through Nov. 4, 2026.

Operators of the selected packages receive a Seoul Top Tourism Product certificate valid for two years. They’ll also get support for global OTA promotion, marketing assistance, and customer-attraction incentives of up to 10 million KRW (about $7,500). For two years, they’ll belong to the Seoul Top Tourism Products Alliance, gaining networking and collaboration opportunities with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Seoul Tourism Foundation, and both domestic and international travel industry partners.
To strengthen program management and cooperation, the chosen operators met at the alliance launch on March 26. There they pledged to follow compliance guidelines aimed at cultivating a fair, healthy tourism market and shared plans for how they’ll run their offerings going forward.
