Gyeongju City announced on the 22nd that it will operate a \”Cherry Blossom Alert\” on its cultural tourism website this spring, offering real-time bloom updates for the city’s most popular cherry blossom spots.
The service is designed to give visitors accurate, timely information about flowering progress so they can plan their trips and choose the best time to visit.
Coverage centers on prime viewing areas, including the Bomun Tourist Complex, the Daereungwon area, and the surroundings of Hwangnyongwon.
Each update will include same-day photos and a short on-site report describing the current bloom stage, and the site will also provide information on other spring blooms like magnolias and canola (rapeseed) flowers.
Notably, a CCTV-linked feature in the website’s main banner will allow users to check bloom conditions at key locations in real time.
The service is free and open to anyone through Gyeongju City’s cultural tourism website.
