On June 2, The Mirror reported that Guardiola turned down a major offer from David Beckham and signaled he has firm plans for his next move.
Guardiola, who arrived at City for the 2016–17 season, oversaw the club’s most successful era. City became the first Premier League team to reach 100 points in 2017–18, and Guardiola led them to a fourth straight league title in 2023–24.

Guardiola’s reign at City came to an end this season. On May 22, Manchester City announced on its official website that he will step down as manager this summer.

But Guardiola has chosen to step away for now. The Mirror reports that Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham identified Guardiola as his top candidate to replace Mascherano, but Guardiola made it clear that attempts to rush him back into coaching would be \”a waste of time.\”
The outlet added that after a decade of dominance at City, Guardiola plans to take a break from football to spend time with family and recharge.
