Lee Jung-hoo (28), nicknamed \”the Grandson of the Wind,\” returned to the San Francisco Giants and made an immediate impact. He came back from injury swinging a hot bat and produced two spectacular plays in the field that drew loud applause from the crowd. Still, the Giants suffered a stunning late collapse, squandering a win and dropping their fourth straight game.
Lee started on May 30 (Korean time) at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, in a road game against the Colorado Rockies. He had been on the 10-day injured list and returned as the No. 6 hitter and right fielder. It marked his first big-league action in 10 days since the May 19 road game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
He showcased an impressive bat, finishing with four hits. Lee went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and flashed his presence with two highlight-reel catches in the field. After a brief IL stint to rest a lower-back issue, he returned and contributed on both offense and defense, raising his season average to .283 (52-for-184).

Despite Lee’s performance, San Francisco collapsed late. The Rockies struck first in the bottom of the second, but the Giants tied it in the top of the third. San Francisco took the lead with two runs in the top of the fourth and added another in the top of the eighth to go up 4-1. Colorado scored twice in the bottom of the eighth to trim the lead to 4-3. The Giants extended the cushion to 6-3 with two runs in the top of the ninth, but the bullpen unraveled in the bottom of the ninth, allowing five runs. With two outs, Essequiel Tovar hit a walk-off two-run homer to seal an 8-6 loss.
With the defeat, the Giants fell to 22-35 (.386). They are 2-8 over their last 10 games and remain fourth in the National League West, 9.5 games behind third-place Arizona (31-25, .554). San Francisco now faces the risk of dropping to the bottom of the division but still holds a 1.5-game lead over fifth-place Colorado (21-37, .362). The Giants will try to end the skid against Colorado on the 31st.
