[MyDaily = Reporter Shim Jae-hee] Arsenal ended a 22-year wait to win the English Premier League — now the club has a chance to add another milestone. The Gunners are chasing a clean sweep of England’s European club trophies. Beat Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the UEFA Champions League final on the 31st (KST), and they’ll complete the set.
English clubs have continued to flex their strength across UEFA competitions this season. Teams from the EPL have been dominant across Europe’s three major club tournaments: Aston Villa lifted the Europa League trophy, and Crystal Palace claimed the Conference League title. That leaves just one major prize remaining — the Champions League.
Arsenal, this season’s Premier League champion, now turns its attention to Europe’s top stage. The final is set for May 31 at Budapest’s Puskás Aréna, where Arsenal will face PSG, the reigning Champions League winner and current Ligue 1 champion. PSG’s squad includes South Korea’s Lee Kang-in, and both clubs will go head-to-head for European glory.
Since 2021, UEFA has operated three continental club competitions: the Champions League at the top, followed by the Europa League and the Conference League. No domestic league has managed to win all three tournaments in a single season during the four years since that structure was introduced.

EPL clubs have generally performed well since UEFA expanded its club competitions. In the 2022–23 season, West Ham United and Manchester City captured the Conference League and Champions League, respectively. In the 2024–25 season, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur took the Conference League and Europa League titles. Still, a single-season sweep of all three trophies has never happened.
Now Arsenal has a golden opportunity. With Aston Villa and Crystal Palace already delivering European titles for England, Arsenal can be the team to put the finishing touch on an exceptional campaign. The challenge is steep — PSG is widely regarded as one of Europe’s elite clubs. All eyes will be on whether Arsenal, at what feels like the high point in the club’s modern history, can topple PSG, complete a domestic double, and give the EPL a clean sweep of Europe’s top club competitions.
