[SPOTV News reporter Jang Ha-joon] Harry Kane has once again established himself as Europe’s premier scorer. Since moving to Germany, he’s maintained a relentless scoring pace and now adds a second European Golden Shoe to his trophy cabinet.
On May 27, Bayern Munich confirmed that Kane had won the European Golden Shoe, the award given to the top league goal-scorer across Europe.
Kane first won the honor in 2023–24, his debut Bundesliga season, when he scored 36 goals in 32 league matches. He matched that tally this season to reclaim the award.
That makes Kane the third player in Bayern Munich history to win the European Golden Shoe more than once, joining club legends Gerd Müller and Robert Lewandowski.
Kane’s 2025–26 campaign was extraordinary. He appeared in 51 matches across all competitions and scored 61 goals. In the Bundesliga, he netted 36 times in 31 appearances, securing the league’s top-scorer crown for a third straight season.
The European Golden Shoe is awarded by European Sports Media (ESM). Instead of raw goal totals, ESM awards points by weighting goals according to the league’s strength.
Goals scored in the five top European leagues—England’s Premier League, Germany’s Bundesliga, Spain’s La Liga, Italy’s Serie A and France’s Ligue 1—are worth two points each. Goals in mid- and lower-ranked leagues receive multipliers of 1.5 or 1 point.
This season, Kane’s 36 league goals translated to 72 points, leaving his rivals behind. Erling Haaland finished second with 27 Premier League goals for 54 points, while last season’s winner Kylian Mbappé placed third with 25 La Liga goals for 50 points.
