German outlet Kicker released its 2025–26 Bundesliga Team of the Season on May 19. Champions Bayern Munich placed six players on the Best XI.
The attack featured Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Dias (Bayern Munich), and Undav (Stuttgart). The midfield included Olise (Bayern Munich), Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich), and Baumgartner (Leipzig). The backline consisted of Upamecano (Bayern Munich), Bushkovic (Hamburg), Reimer (Bayern Munich), and Schlotterbeck (Dortmund), with Atubolu (Freiburg) in goal.
Bayern scored 122 goals across 34 Bundesliga matches this season, breaking the record for most goals in a single Bundesliga campaign. Kane finished with 36 goals, claiming the league’s top-scorer title for a third consecutive season and underlining his lethal finishing.
Despite Bayern’s attacking dominance, their defense drew criticism for inconsistency. The side conceded three goals in back-to-back league games against Mainz and Heidenheim — matches that came just before and after the first leg of their Champions League semifinal with Paris Saint-Germain — exposing defensive vulnerabilities. Bayern finished the league having conceded 36 goals in 34 matches, more than second-place Dortmund.
Center back Kim Min-jae made 25 Bundesliga appearances this season, playing a key role in the title run and scoring once. Upamecano, who made Kicker’s Best XI, appeared in 24 league matches and also scored one goal. Jonathan Tah logged 28 Bundesliga appearances and scored twice, recording the most appearances among Bayern’s center-back options this season. Bayern will face Stuttgart on May 23 in the 2025–26 DFB-Pokal final as they chase a domestic double.
