[Herald Economy = Reporter Seo Jae-geun] Kia, the official mobility partner of FIFA World Cup 2026, held a vehicle handover ceremony at the Los Angeles Stadium and announced on the 20th that it will provide 660 vehicles to support tournament operations during the event, which runs June 11–July 19 (local time).
The fleet assigned for event operations includes the Carnival, Telluride, Sorento, Sportage, K4, Niro, and Sonet.
With matches set across the United States, Canada and Mexico, Kia said it aims to showcase a diverse, innovative lineup while delivering forward-looking mobility solutions for the three-host tournament.
Beyond supplying vehicles, Kia plans to roll out a FIFA World Cup display theme and run fan-focused campaigns, including its Official Match Ball Carrier (OMBC) program, to engage and inspire soccer fans around the globe.
The OMBC program selects children who deliver the official match ball to the referee before kickoff and escort players onto the field alongside them.
“We are honored to support the FIFA World Cup as the official mobility partner,” Kia President Song Ho-sung said. “This vehicle support reflects our commitment to providing innovative, sustainable mobility solutions on the world stage, and we hope it creates an inspiring experience for every participant and fan.”
Since 2007, Kia has served as FIFA’s official mobility partner for roughly 20 years and plans to continue offering innovative mobility solutions at FIFA global events through 2030.
