[MyDaily = Reporter Choi Byung-jin] Arsenal has shown interest in signing Tijjani Reijnders from Manchester City.
British outlet Cut Offside reported on May 10 (KST) that Arsenal is monitoring Reijnders’ situation and that the midfielder is weighing his future.
Reijnders, a Dutch central midfielder, is strong at carrying the ball. He protects possession, draws pressure to create space, and plays sharp, incisive passes. He developed at PEC Zwolle and AZ Alkmaar before making his mark at AC Milan in the 2023–24 season.
He was named the best midfielder for the 2024–25 season and earned AC Milan’s Player of the Year award. On the back of that form, Manchester City signed him ahead of this season for a reported €70 million (approximately $74.9 million; about 120 billion KRW, approximately $90 million) including add-ons. Reijnders has scored 5 goals with 2 assists in 27 Premier League appearances, and totals 7 goals with 8 assists in 46 matches across all competitions.
However, his playing time has dipped since midseason. He has been on the bench for four straight league matches since the Matchday 32 game against Chelsea, fueling speculation about his future.
France’s OneFootball wrote that Reijnders has hit a frustrating patch. His limited minutes have attracted interest from several Premier League clubs. With Aston Villa and Newcastle monitoring the situation, Arsenal have also been linked with a move.

The report added, “Arsenal could add creativity in the final third by signing Reijnders. He would bring added balance to the midfield alongside Martin Ødegaard and Declan Rice.” It also noted that if Pep Guardiola were to leave Manchester City, Reijnders might opt to move as well.
