[SPOTV News — Kim Tae-woo] SSG’s Futures squad rallied in the middle and late innings to defeat LG’s second team, snapping a losing streak.
Trailing 0-3 through the top of the fifth at Ganghwa SSG Futures Field, SSG mounted a comeback and walked off with a 4-3 victory.
Starter Choi Yong-jun, making his return from rehab, worked three innings and allowed two runs. Jung Dong-yoon added three innings with one run allowed. Relievers Seo Jin-yong, Park Sang-hoo and Kim Hyun-jae each threw a scoreless inning, setting the stage for the comeback.
At the plate, An Jae-yeon delivered two hits, a walk and two RBIs, including the decisive hit in the eighth. Choi Yoon-seok and Kim Min-beom recorded multi-hit games. Lee Seung-min chipped in with a hit and an RBI, while Ha Jae-hoon and Kim Min-jun each collected hits.

The rally began in the bottom of the fifth. Leadoff hitter Kim Min-beom singled, and consecutive walks to Kim Min-jun and An Jae-yeon loaded the bases with no outs. Park Myung-hyun’s sacrifice fly cut the deficit to 3-1. With runners at first and third and one out, Lee Seung-min delivered an RBI single to pull SSG within one.
After failing to score in the sixth and seventh, SSG took the lead in the eighth. Leadoff batter Choi Yoon-seok reached on an infield hit, and Kim Min-beom followed with an RBI single to put runners at first and second with no outs. Kim Min-jun’s sacrifice bunt moved them to second and third with one out, and An Jae-yeon drove both runners home with a two-RBI single to right-center, flipping the game. Kim Hyun-jae worked a clean ninth to preserve the win.
An SSG Futures official said, “Jung Dong-yoon’s confidence with his forkball has improved, and Seo Jin-yong’s velocity is trending up. Kim Hyun-jae’s command has stabilized, and his slider is showing gradual improvement.”
He added, “An Jae-yeon has been getting more opportunities, which has given him more composure and confidence at the plate. His contact skills look more consistent overall.”
