[SPOTV News= Sajik, Reporter Park Seung-hwan] \”We appreciate the full-house turnout on a weekday,\” manager Kim Tae-hyung said.
The Lotte Giants beat the Kiwoom Heroes 3-1 on the 30th at Sajik Stadium in Busan in the teams’ sixth meeting of the 2026 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League season.
The stalemate finally cracked in the top of the fifth. Starter Jeremy Beasley issued a leadoff walk to Lim Byung-wook, yielded a sacrifice bunt to Oh Seon-jin and allowed an infield single to Trenton Brooks, putting runners at the corners. Ahn Chi-hong followed with an RBI single to give Kiwoom a 1-0 lead.
Aside from that fifth inning, Lotte put runners on in each of the first four frames and three times reached scoring position but failed to convert. They got another opportunity in the bottom of the sixth when leadoff hitter Victor Reyes doubled to center off reliever Lee Jun-woo.
With one out and a runner at third after Yun Dong-hee moved the runner, Park Seung-wook delivered a run-scoring single to center to tie the game at 1-1. What looked like a routine fly ball turned into a break for Lotte when Kiwoom’s shortstop and center fielder hesitated on the play. After Yoo Kang-nam followed with another hit and Kiwoom committed an error, Lotte pushed across a second run, and Jeon Min-jae added an RBI single to make it 3-1.

Beasley settled in and kept Kiwoom to one run over six innings, and Lotte locked down the late innings. Jung Cheol-won, fresh off a stint in the second squad, struck out the side to end the seventh. Park Jung-min escaped a bases-loaded jam in the eighth without allowing a run, and closer Choi Jun-yong slammed the door in the ninth to secure Lotte’s first winning homestand of the season.
Beasley recorded a quality start, allowing seven hits, one walk and one earned run while striking out seven over six innings to earn his second win. Jung Cheol-won and Park Jung-min earned holds, and Choi Jun-yong picked up the save. At the plate, Park Seung-wook had two hits and an RBI, Jeon Min-jae had one hit and an RBI, and Jang Du-seong contributed two hits.
After the game, Kim Tae-hyung praised the pitching staff, saying, \”Beasley gave us a strong six-inning, one-run outing, and our late-inning relievers held Kiwoom scoreless to secure the win.\”
He also singled out the hitters: \”Jang Du-seong and Park Seung-wook have kept their bats hot and made an impact at the plate.\” Kim closed by thanking the fans who came out in full despite it being a weekday.
