KIA Tigers Break 5-Game Losing Streak with 4-0 Victory: Key Highlights from the Match

The KIA Tigers dominated the Lotte Giants, snapping a five-game losing streak.
On April 24 at Gwangju’s KIA Champions Field, Adam Oller delivered a complete-game shutout and former MVP Kim Do-young homered in back-to-back at-bats to power KIA to a 4-0 win in the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League matchup with Lotte.
The victory kept KIA in fifth place at 11–12. Lotte, which had ended its own five-game slide the day before, dropped to 7–15.
Oller was the clear difference. He worked nine innings, throwing 103 pitches while allowing three hits and two walks and striking out 11, stifling Lotte’s lineup. It was the KBO’s first complete-game shutout of the season; the previous CG shutout came July 26 last year by Ariel Hurado (Samsung).
The gem was Oller’s fourth win, and it lowered his season ERA to 0.81.
Offensively, Kim Do-young carried the day for KIA.
Tied 0-0, Kim launched the go-ahead homer in the bottom of the seventh. He followed with a two-run shot in the eighth with one out and a runner on second to put the game out of reach. The consecutive homers gave Kim eight on the season and put him atop the league leaderboard.
Lotte starter Jeremy Beasley also pitched well — seven innings, seven hits (one home run), 11 strikeouts and two runs — but received minimal support from his offense and took the loss, his second of the season (1–2). Lotte managed just three hits all day.
Elsewhere, the SSG Landers shut out the KT Wiz 5-0 at Incheon SSG Landers Field.
The win extended SSG’s streak to four games and improved their record to 14–8.
SSG starter Kim Gun-woo was superb, tossing seven innings (107 pitches) of three-hit, two-walk ball with seven strikeouts and no runs allowed — his first Quality Start Plus of the season (at least seven innings, three earned runs or fewer). On offense, Park Seong-han extended his KBO-season-long hitting streak to 22 games.
