Hanwha Life Esports coach Yoon “Homme” Sung-young said he was relieved to win despite mistakes in games 2 and 3 after his team beat Nongshim RedForce to extend their streak to five.
Hanwha defeated Nongshim 2-1 on the afternoon of April 22 at the LCK Arena in Grand Seoul during Week 4 of the LCK. The victory marked Hanwha’s fifth straight and moved them to 6-1 on the season (+8), keeping them in second place. Nongshim, unable to complete a three-game run, took its third loss and sits at 4-3.
In a postgame interview, Yoon said, “We made disappointing mistakes in games 2 and 3, but I’m glad we won. We’ll go back and talk through the issues with the players.” He added, “The problems in games 2 and 3 were so obvious they showed up twice in different plays. I also put us at a disadvantage in the draft — that’s my fault. I need to be more careful.”
Looking ahead to their next match against Kiwoom DRX, Yoon said the results so far haven’t been bad and urged the team to stick with what they’ve been doing. “We’ll discuss today’s issues. The players are working hard — please give them plenty of support,” he said.
