[Sports Today reporter Kang Tae-gu] The LG Twins rallied late to beat the SSG Landers 4-3, extending their winning streak to six games.
LG defeated SSG 4-3 on April 11 at Seoul’s Jamsil Baseball Stadium in a 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League home game.
The win moved LG to 8-4, keeping them tied for first with the KT Wiz (8-4). SSG dropped its fourth straight game and fell to 7-5.
LG starter Im Chan-kyu allowed 10 hits over five innings, struck out two, walked two and gave up two runs; he left without a decision.
At the plate, Park Hae-min had multiple hits, including the go-ahead double, and delivered the key blow in the eighth.
SSG starter Kim Geon-woo tossed six innings, gave up four hits, struck out five, walked three and allowed one run, but did not get the win.
SSG struck first. In the top of the second, Ko Myung-jun’s hit and a walk to Han Yu-seom put runners on first and second with no outs. Ahn Sang-hyun then hit into a double play that left two outs and a runner at first, but back-to-back hits by Jo Hyeong-woo and Park Seong-han produced the game’s first runs.
LG answered in the bottom of the second. Moon Bo-kyung singled and, after Oh Ji-hwan’s grounder resulted in Moon being thrown out at second, Park Hae-min doubled and Park Dong-won’s sacrifice fly tied the game.
SSG retook the lead in the top of the fourth. With one out and a runner on second, Jo Hyeong-woo doubled and Park Seong-han’s RBI single made it 2-1.
SSG added a solo homer in the top of the seventh. With one out and no one on, Kim Jae-hwan crushed the third pitch — a 151km/h heater from reliever Woo Kang-hoon — over center field.
After a quiet stretch following the second inning, LG rallied in the seventh. In the bottom of the frame, Park Dong-won drew a walk and Shin Min-jae reached on a throwing error by the second baseman to create a one-out, runners-at-first-and-second situation. Chun Seong-ho’s groundout advanced the runners, and Moon Seong-ju’s RBI infield hit cut the deficit to one.
LG delivered the decisive rally in the eighth. Moon Bo-kyung reached on a catcher’s throwing error, Oh Ji-hwan followed with a single to load the bases with no outs, and Park Hae-min ripped a double that cleared the bases and put LG ahead.
Leading into the ninth, LG turned to Yoo Young-chan. He retired the side in order to close out the victory.
