[Sports Today reporter Kang Tae-gu] ‘Grow with uS, GS’ GS Sports’ professional football club FC Seoul (FC Seoul) will host Gwangju FC in its 2026 K League 1 Round 5 home opener at Seoul World Cup Stadium on March 22 at 2 p.m. To mark the home opener, FC Seoul has lined up a slate of events to celebrate the club’s history and traditions and kick off the new season.
Inside the stadium, a heritage video highlighting championship moments since 1983 will revisit the club’s six stars and launch a spirited push for a seventh alongside the team’s guardian spirit. The opening ceremony will feature an official declaration from club legend manager Yoon Sang-chul, followed by an emblem banner unfurling and flag performance, and a traditional drumming display by club legend Go Yo-han. This season also introduces a halftime “chant time,” inviting the entire crowd to join a full-stadium singalong of FC Seoul’s cheering songs.
Before kickoff, the north plaza will host a variety of fan participation events. A new special stage, hosted by MC Hwi, will feature V Girls (Seo Hyun-sook, Park Ki-ryang, Baek Ji-hye, Ryu Hyun-joo) leading mini-games and teaching cheering routines with fans. Visitors can sample new Food Park menu items and join prize giveaways. This season’s Food Park lineup has been rebranded and will include FC Seoul half-and-half pizza, hot dogs, the FC Red rice bowl, and a range of other options.
The home opener will also run a TERRA DAY promotion with official partner TERRA. In the north plaza, a TERRA draft beer zone will operate alongside special discounts, a photo zone, dart games, and prize giveaways, offering multiple fan participation activities.
FC Seoul will stage a collaboration with global IP Pokémon. The north plaza will showcase a giant Pikachu balloon, a Pokémon photo wall, and a mini-game zone. Inside the stadium, Pikachu greetings and other activations will give fans additional entertainment.
