U.S. media outlets unanimously reported on January 10th (KST) that Eric Fedde and the Chicago White Sox have agreed to a one-year contract, pending a physical examination.

Fedde, who has performed well this season under a team-friendly deal, is currently at the peak of his trade value, according to industry experts.

Eric Fedde, often hailed as one of the KBO League’s export success stories, has made waves in both Korean and American baseball circles.
After being released by the Washington Nationals in 2022, Fedde found a new opportunity in Korea.
His impressive 20-win season with the NC Dinos in 2023 paved the way for his return to the MLB, signing with the Chicago White Sox for the 2024 season.
Fedde’s comeback to the big leagues was solid, posting a 9-9 record over 31 games.
However, the previous year presented numerous challenges for the right-hander.
Fedde bounced between the St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Braves, and Milwaukee Brewers, struggling to find his footing.
His final stat line for the season was underwhelming: 4-12 with a bloated 5.49 ERA over 32 appearances.
A glimmer of hope emerged when the Brewers shifted him to a bullpen role, where he showed some promise.
As the hot stove season heated up, Fedde explored his options for a new team.
Despite rumors of a potential return to the NC Dinos, Fedde ultimately reunited with the White Sox.
MLB.com analysts remain optimistic about Fedde’s arsenal, noting, “Fedde’s sweeper and changeup continue to be effective weapons. His sweeper, in particular, held batters to a mere .191 average.”
While his role – starter or reliever – remains uncertain, Fedde’s inclusion in spring training bodes well for his chances.
With Anthony Kay, Shane Smith, Davis Martin, and Sean Burke currently slotted into the rotation, the fifth starter spot is up for grabs, presenting a prime opportunity for Fedde.
Now, it’s up to Fedde to seize this chance and prove he belongs in the big leagues once again.
