Netflix’s ‘참교육’: A Deep Dive into the New Series Tackling Education Chaos

Daniel Kim Views

[넷플릭스 [Herald Muse = Reporter Kim Min-ji] Netflix has released the main poster and trailer for its series True Education (Korean title: 「참교육」), raising expectations for the debut of the School Authority Protection Bureau.

True Education centers on a bureau that stands with victims and pushes back decisively against students, teachers, and parents who have crossed the line, depicting the team’s relentless effort to restore a fractured education system.

The poster shows the four members of the bureau striding down a school corridor littered with broken glass and overturned desks, a striking image that invites questions. Na Hwa-jin (Kim Mu-yeol) wears a composed smile that contrasts with the chaos; Choi Kang-seok (Lee Sung-min) watches the rear with a solemn expression; Im Han-rim (Jin Ki-joo) faces forward with resolute eyes and a wry expression; and Bong Geun-dae (Pyo Ji-hoon) tightens his fist.

Each member’s distinct presence deepens curiosity about how this team will coordinate to protect victims in a collapsing school environment.

[넷플릭스 [넷플릭스 The main trailer, released alongside the poster, heightens engagement by staging a fast-paced, head-on clash between an out-of-control school environment and the bureau.

Led by Choi Kang-seok, who established the bureau to root out the “monsters” wrecking schools, the team includes supervisor Na Hwa-jin, who takes a hands-on role in special oversight; Im Han-rim, sent in under the watchword of meeting madness with madness; and Bong Geun-dae, who uses his youthful looks and awkward charm to infiltrate schools. Their bold, personality-driven approach to enforcing real accountability drives the series.

[넷플릭스 Yet students brazenly misbehave and some parents interrupt lessons—almost as if to mock the bureau’s declaration, “From today, the Korean School Authority Protection Bureau will give this school a real lesson.” Opponents calling for the bureau’s abolition also surface, signaling a difficult road ahead.

That tension is short-lived. Choi Kang-seok delivers a sharp rebuke—“Don’t interfere with sacred compulsory education. We won’t stand idly by”—and Na Hwa-jin, Im Han-rim, and Bong Geun-dae proceed to deliver real education until wrongdoers truly comprehend their mistakes, promising a satisfying, cathartic payoff.

[넷플릭스 With the fresh premise of a fictional government bureau tasked with protecting schools, Netflix’s True Education offers a blunt, restorative story about reclaiming the classroom. The series premieres exclusively on Netflix on Friday, June 5.
