Pastor Hannam University Church marked its 47th anniversary by donating development funds to Hannam University.

Hannam University said on the 14th that Pastor Kwon Hyuk-il of Hannam University Church presented President Lee Seung-chul with a development fund of ₩20,000,000 (about $15,000 USD) on the 13th.

The church’s tradition of supporting the university stretches back 47 years. Founded in 1979 to promote campus ministry, Hannam University Church donated the retreat site in Muju to the university in 1985 to satisfy requirements for university accreditation, and it contributed roughly ₩600,000,000 (about $450,000 USD) toward the construction of the Jeong Seong-gyun Missionary Hall. From 2015 through this year, the church has donated a total of ₩160,000,000 (about $120,000 USD) in development funds, supporting campus ministry and the university’s development.

Pastor Kwon said, “We donated these development funds on behalf of our congregation, with their earnest prayers and encouragement.”

President Lee responded, “We will honor the congregation’s generosity and use the funds purposefully to advance the university.”
