Total project budget of 1.8 billion KRW (approximately $1.35 million USD) to build a dome-shaped stage
Yongin City announced on the 8th that construction has begun on an outdoor stage at Giheung Lake Park in the Gosae-dong neighborhood of Giheung-gu. Officials expect the project to be completed in September.
With a total budget of 1.8 billion KRW (approximately $1.35 million USD), the city will install a large dome-shaped tensile membrane structure, complete with a stage and lighting systems, creating an outdoor venue that can accommodate up to 10,000 spectators in the Gosae-dong area.
Once finished, the venue will host a range of cultural performances and community programs centered on Giheung Lake Park, expanding leisure and cultural opportunities for Yongin residents.
This year the city also plans to renovate walking paths and install a pedestrian overpass to reinforce Giheung Lake Park’s role as a recreational and cultural hub for the community.
Last December, Yongin completed riverbed maintenance and walking-path construction at Giheung Lake, and in March it finished work on a 14-hole park golf course.
