Actor Gi Eun-se’s agency has responded to complaints about renovation work at her residence.
On May 7, Gi Eun-se’s agency, Sublime, said in an official statement that the actor had learned some residents raised concerns about parking disruptions and cleanliness during a villa renovation carried out roughly two weeks before her planned move.
The agency said it apologized directly to the resident who filed the complaint and completed neighborhood cleanups. It added that it acted promptly to address traffic issues and continues daily cleanups of the site and surrounding area to maintain cleanliness.
Sublime said it has maintained regular communication with nearby residents since the complaints and has been coordinating to prevent further inconveniences related to the move and construction. It added that, at present, the work is proceeding without additional complaints.
The agency also pledged that the contractor remains in steady contact with residents and that both the contractor and agency will monitor and manage the area more carefully to avoid disruptions until the project is finished.
Meanwhile, posts have circulated on online community forums alleging that residents were being inconvenienced by Gi Eun-se’s renovation work.
A person identifying themselves as a family member of a Pyeongchang-dong resident said their parents endured the situation to keep the peace with neighbors, but that the younger generation found the disruptions infuriating. They said the inconvenience has persisted for months.
Gi Eun-se’s team emphasized that it has continued communicating with nearby residents since the complaints and is coordinating efforts to prevent further issues.
The person who posted the complaint, and later said they received an apology from Gi Eun-se’s side, described the response as bittersweet—saddened that action came only after the matter escalated—and expressed hope that the work will be completed considerately so relationships in the neighborhood are not damaged.
