Seodaemun-gu in Seoul will operate the 2026 Visiting Children’s Safety Experience Camp to improve elementary students’ disaster-response skills and strengthen safety awareness.
This year, about 6,200 students from 14 local elementary schools will participate, an expansion from roughly 5,800 students at 11 schools last year.
Sessions will take place in classrooms or school auditoriums through November and run about 80 minutes. Professional instructors will lead interactive, hands-on programs tailored to students’ levels.
The camp includes VR simulations for disaster, everyday, and water-safety scenarios, along with practical training in CPR and how to use fire extinguishers.
Personal-safety training to prepare children for kidnapping and abduction scenarios has been added this year.
Building on high satisfaction last year, the district increased both session time and the number of participants. The program emphasizes repeated, hands-on practice so children build safety habits they can apply in daily life.
