Incheon National University has taken a step to strengthen its partnership with the local community.
The nonprofit Incheon People donated 10 million KRW (7,500 USD) to Incheon National University’s development fund to support the university’s growth and talent development.
The university said on April 23 that the donation ceremony at the university headquarters was attended by President Lee In-jae and members of Incheon People, including chairman Kim Gwang-o; directors Seo Hae-yong, Jeong Gwang-hoon and Hwang Jung-seok; and members Lee Beom-hong and Kim Hyung-gi.
Yoon Byung-jo, the executive director of the development fund, also attended. Incheon People, made up of alumni and local residents, made the donation to support the alma mater’s continued development and to foster future talent.
The donation will be used as a designated fund to improve the university’s educational environment and to support students.
Chairman Kim Gwang-o said, \”I am deeply moved that alumni have come together to contribute to our alma mater’s progress. I hope Incheon National University continues to develop as an institution that grows alongside the local community.\”
President Lee In-jae said, \”Alumni’s voluntary engagement and generosity are major drivers of the university’s advancement. We will do our best to ensure these contributions are used meaningfully.\”
The donation is being viewed as an important step toward closer cooperation and shared development between the university and the surrounding community.
By directing the gift toward improvements in educational infrastructure and student support, Incheon National University is expected to reinforce its role as a community-rooted institution.
Observers expect this will contribute to sustainable development through close collaboration with local stakeholders.
